Long Review: | I placed my order for the book on a Sunday, and was very impressed when Lee (I ordered via the UK) e-mailed me back that same evening to confirm the order and to let me know that the book would be mailed the next day. True to his word, it arrived on Tuesday, having been posted on Monday. The book itself is also very nice indeed. I've spent many years looking at pictures of destroyed and damaged German armour, and I can honestly say that I've not seen any of these pictures before. The book is split into four sections. The first contains 8 photos in and around Vienna, the second 21 photos of war booty on a train in Yugoslavia, part three shows 6 photos of Panzer wrecks in Znojmo, and the final part has 20 photos of the Endkampf in Berlin. The actual photos are all very clear, and all show some good details of the specific vehicles they show. Every picture is useful in some way, and many of the pictures are part of a series, thus showing the vehicles from different angles. This means that we get to see individual vehicles in extreme detail- a luxury we are seldom afforded. Lee also kindly sent me some sample pages, embossed with the Panzerwrecks logo, so I could show the quality of the actual books (these are taken from the pdf file that the book is printed from, apparently). All in all, this is probably one of the most interesting purchases you can make if you're interested in German WW2 armour, particularly in late-war kit. Very highly recommended. |
