|Long Review:||The tank is supplied as a resin hull, turret, two track units, driver's hatch. White metal front mudguards, fuel tanks, tow hooks, light, gun barrel, and hull MG.
Cast in a creamy resin, with good cast-metal surface detail on the turret. Some surface pitting and bubbles. Lots of surface detail cast onto on the hull and turret- items like the toolbox on the left fender, grab handles on the hull and turret, a saw, the siren and a tow-rope on the hull.
The model shows the turret ventilator domes correctly. The BAM model has the turret lifting lugs and grab handles, while the periscopes appear more post-war. It does not have the turret pistol ports but does have a good cast texture. The gun is off-set to the right as per all the drawings I've found, and appears to be the correct length.
The hull has lots of additional cast-on detail, but too-small exhausts and limited engine hatch detail, although it has decent rivet-detail on the back plate. The driver's hatch is a shade too high. The mudguards appear correct- one of the later square styles. The fuel drums carried by the BAM T-34 also appear in proportion.
|Commentary:||Very useful, and very neatly done. BAM has listened to their customers, and made changes to the kit to improve accuracy with each re-moulding as the moulds wear out. One of the changes is the periscopes on the turret were originally in the wrong place. They have apparently been relocated to the correct places on the turret top surface. I will, of course, be amending this in the review as soon as I can verify that.|
