Long Review: | The The Chevrolet 30-cwt truck was chosen by the LRDG (Long Range Desert Group) as a transport vehicle. Of course, they had to make some changes to it (remove windscreen frames and such) to lighten it. The Chieftain Models kit consists of an all-metal kit consisting of the front/ chassis and the loadbed, with the wheels and additional parts (cargo, suspension, stowage, weapons and two crewmen - a total of 53 parts!) beautifully cast with almost no cleaning apart from the odd casting vent. This is a solid model, which certainly looks the part, and it provides plenty of choice in the layout of the storage and weaponry fitted- particularly if one considers the weapons supplied. |
