Pulp Figures

Canada

Inter-war German, as delivered
As Delivered

Barrett Scale: 26M.
Mixes best with: BAM, the earlier Black Tree Designs figures.
Long Review: I've been aware of Bob's venture for a while now, but have refrained from buying for a number of reasons, one of which is that the figures look slightly cartoony on the website. When I put this site together, I contacted all the manufacturers who make figures in the scale and period, and received these samples recently.
Was I ever wrong in not buying them earlier. They are really very, very nice indeed, easily on a par with any other figures out there.
The six samples I received consist of three WW1-era Germans (from PGS-8), one British infantryman in pith helmet from PBT-2, one of the stalwart companions from PHP-10 and a sword-wielding officer from PJE-1.
The Germans will easily fit in with the Great War figures, both in style and equipment. The poses are very natural, not forced, and the detail is well-rounded off. I look forward to seeing more of this particular range.
The British are suitable for the Middle East in the years before and after WW1, and the figure I received is really well-proportioned- a really nice addition to any such force.
Bob's inter-war Japanese will really add something to many collections- they are an animated, active lot, suitable for everything from menacing people in the wilds of Manchukuo to invading China in the years immediately before WW2, and some even into WW2.
The Henchman is wearing a pill-box hat, and is wileding a kukri, rifle slung over his shoulder.
Commentary: Now that I've seen the samples, I will (as soon as my wargaming budget allows), be placing an order with Bob- Manchukuo, anyone?.
