Long Review: | Bicycles. Who'd have thought that there is only one readily available bicycle in 28mm? I saw these more by accident ahtn anything else, but as they feature so much in many period photos, I thought that I'd better get one or two. The Eureka bicycle comes as a four-part casting, each piece being a cleanly-cast item. The bicylce frame and wheels are one part, with a "base" cast onto the front wheel. The handle bar and the pedals are cast onto a seperate sprue, and each attaches seperately. In terms of size, it appears pretty much what I'd expect from a two-wheeler of the inter-war to 1950's, and the sculpting and casting are really good, with almost no mould lines and just a little bit of excess metal to be removed. I suspect I'll be getting a fair few more of these to add colour to my vehicles and scenery, particularly the Axis vehicles, many of which seem to have had bicycles hanging from them. |
