|Long Review:||I've known about Renegade's WW1 figures for a while now, but have never had much of an opportunity to compare them with other figures, mainly because I've never needed any of the Renegade products for my armies. However, for the sake of the review I had to finally turn to them. I really wish they had made ranges in periods I'm focused on. These are very nice indeed.
The sample pack I received contained a random sampling of Renegade's historicals (the others are covered in seperate reviews), with only one WW1 figure in the pack. Fortunately a friend donated another random WW1 figure (a French soldier), and, while passing a shop in London I noticed some figures at a good price there- leading me to buying another pack.
The six figures I now have are four Germans (the late war command pack), a French soldier and a British soldier. The figures are very neatly cast, with a few small runnels on thin areas. There is very little flash, and some of the poses are really good.
The uniforms look accurate, and the details are well-defined. The rifles also appear to match the length of the Mauser 98, and the helmet lugs on the German Stahlhelm also look more robust than some of the samples I've seen.
|Commentary:||Very nice figures indeed. I suspect I'll be getting more soon to fill some of those inter-war and early WW2 armies.|
|Casting:||Average. There is a minimal amount of cleaning, but not excessively so.|
